Very interesting if “blink and you will miss it” moment during the Tiger Woods versus Rory McIlroy match in China today.
While many say Rory is bound to move to Nike when his Titleist contract expires at the end of the season, others are not convinced.
Today however Tiger and Rory were fitted with microphones and they talked equipment. After hitting off the fourth, McIlroy took Tiger’s Nike iron and had a couple of practice swings with it. Tiger also told Rory about the Nike golf ball and the technical aspects of the spin rates.
Interesting!

Who cares what clubs Mcilroy or Woods play with, I certainly won't be buying any Nike equipment based on who they may be endorsed by. I certainly don't have any respect for these two corporate mercenaries who turned up in Turkey to collect outrageous appearance fees and never exhibited any interest in the tournament what so ever. How can these guys be held up as role models when they moan about having to play too much golf yet earn more money in one year than hundreds of people would earn in a lifetime doing something they love. Perhaps we should be questioning why these sports personalties earn so much when so many people are killing themselves to pay the bills. Yes they have been blessed with an exceptional talent for a certain sport but that does not explain why they deserve to earn more than someone who works 60 hours a week. I used to enjoy golf but the greediness now endemic in the sport is a damning advertisement for the sport.
