Need To Know Stuff About The Course

New name, new course in Malaysia this week. Real Selangor is flat and average in length by Tour standards except for two long par-4’s.  The rough is high so straight hitters will have an advantage.  Greens are reported as excellent.

Malaysia. Moist.

Doc’s Top Five To Watch

Alejandro Canizares 40/1

Coming off a good T8 in Dubai and T5 before that in Abu Dhabi.  T3 in Kuala Lumpur GC last year.  The form putter in the field and trending towards a win.

Joost Luiten 16/1

Three top 10s from his last four starts and looking every bit like he’ll win very soon.  Has never really hit the heights in Malaysia but on current form and a new course, has to be a live contender.

Gregory Bourdy 45/1

The Frenchman has come close in Malaysia before with a solo second and T5 from two of his last five visits.  This course will suit him much more than those at the desert swing last month, though a T13 in Qatar was solid.

Thongchai Jaidee 28/1

Jaidee is far too experienced to tip by form; if he’s up for an event and the course suits, he WILL contend.  Word from my spies at the venue is that Thingchai has to be on the shortlist. Winner in Malaysia back in 2005.

Soren Kjeldsen 33/1

Continuing where left off last year Soren was T8 in Dubai last time out.  Always puts himself in position off the tee and putting the lights out.
