Instruction: Begin on hands and knees, making sure the wrists are directly underneath the shoulders. Extend the legs back straight. The body should be in one straight line. Keep the fingers spread and the palms flat while pressing the forearms and hands firmly down. Keep the neck in line with the spine and broaden the shoulder blades. Draw the navel inward to engage the core abdominals and to support the lower back. Hold for 5-10 breaths.

Modification: For more of a challenge, try plank push-ups. Place the knees on the floor. Inhale as you lower slowly, elbows facing behind and tucked in tight to the side of the body. Exhale as you lift back up. Repeat push-ups 1-10 times in good form.
