In channeling his inner Seve and manufacturing an unlikely win at The Valspar, Jordan Spieth has sent the bookies scurrying for cover in the run up to The Masters. Chief among them are betting giants PaddyPower who have slashed the Texan's odds to 12/1. Paddy is only more afraid of Rory at 9/2 despite never really having figured out Augusta and two time champ Bubba Watson at 11/1.

On the flip side, Tiger Woods, though fully fit, has seen his odds drift to 40/1.  His participation in the event is even still in the balance as he continues to battle his short game.

"He's grinding. He's really, really working," his agent, Mark Steinberg told reporters. "Everyone knows he's working toward the Masters, he wants to play there."

His good mate, and seemingly straight talker, Notably Gay III painted a grim picture however on golf.com.

"I spent quite a bit of time the last couple of weeks down at Tiger’s house, trying to be a good running mate and going through workouts and practicing with him," he said. "I can attest to the fact that things are improving and that he is putting in some solid workdays. It is just not at the status that he wants it."

Who would you rather back? Spieth at 12/1 or Tiger at 40's?
