A bookmaker in County Mayo is said to be taking "very seriously" claims by a punter that he has figured out a betting strategy on Rory McIlroy at the US Open that will win either way.
Boyle revealed he has successfully used the strategy already this year at the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth, where he ended up looking like an absolute hero after claiming to but not backing Byeong Hung An at 150/ 1 before the start of the tournament.

"I was just having a few cans of Bulmers in Johnno's Pub in Ballinrobe when next thing it hit me; a way to back Rory McIlroy that would see me win either way," said Paul 'Ballsack' Boyle who has been boozing since 10am this morning. "I told all the lads I put 50 quid each way on McIlroy at 50/1 but I didn't put a f*cking cent on the c*nt at all," the 23 year old who works in the sawmill added. "If he wins I'll look like a f*cking legend and if he loses I'm up a hundred quid. It's win win baby."
