I came across this amazing facebook post yesterday from Lance Sur describing the the Head Pro at Kabul Golf Club in Afghanistan.

Head Golf Professional at Kabul Golf Club who has faced the Soviets, the Taliban, freezing, starving, gut wrenching loss, and precious few victories. And he is still there every day, ready for students, hoping for players. Go ahead, complain to this guy about the sand in the bunkers or the pace of play.
— in Kabul, Afghanistan.
I've since verified the picture as real and the man's name is Mohammad Afzal Abdul  or just "Abdul" to those who know him.

He even has a webpage devoted to him. In it describes how Abdul "in 1975 was promoted to the club's teaching pro, manager, bar tender, public relations director and, on more than on occasion, dishwasher, handyman and greens keeper."

We salute you Abdul!
