Fears are growing for the well being of European Tour golfer Richard Bland after locals from the village of Zandvoort in Holland spotted him limping through the local park in the middle of the night.

It is believed the Englishman may have consumed up  to 12 episodes of the House Of Cards TV Show prior to the incident.

"Yesh thish guy was dressed in the black clothing and, how you say, prancing around the plaish, in the middle of the moon time," said local resident Steve McLaren.

Friends on Tour have reported that Bland has recently become totally enraptured by the Frank Underwood character from the show to the point that he may now be trying to emulate his behavior.

There were no apparent ill effects on the sleep deprived 42 year old however as he shot a first round 62 wearing a pinstripe suit and tie, and immediately demanded a plate of marinaded ribs after signing his card.

"Why I’ve always loathed the necessity of sleep," Bland told reporters in a more Southern than Southampton drawl. "Like death, it puts even the most powerful men on their backs."
"For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy. There is but one rule: hunt or be hunted," Bland called out as he walked purposefully out of the media tent, straightening his cuff-links.

More as it emerges.
