A complete lack of sympathy was palpable on the PGA Tour yesterday after Graham DeLaet called out "injured" Patrick Reed for leaving their three ball in the lurch for the final round in heavy winds at Torrey Pines.

DeLaet along with Scott Piercy were due to play with Reed in the final round, only for him to pull out with an "ankle injury".

The Canadian took to Twitter to jump on Reed's badly swollen limb/ego. The suggestion was that the problem was less with the ankle and more the fact that Pat didn't fancy chasing a lost cause in a hurricane.

Reed resisted the urge to reply.

More as it emerges.
