Herbert Hainer. About To Give TaylorMade Two Shots In A Bunker?

Shit is going down again in Adidas and the necks of the good people who have been trying their hearts out at TaylorMade are again on the block.  It seems a decision is imminent on whether Adidas are ready to chop off their golfing arm.

Adidas CEO Herbert Hainer wrote

“Following a decade of strong and profitable growth, TaylorMade-Adidas Golf experienced two very difficult years in 2014 and 2015, caused by a number of structural, commercial and operational issues.  As a result, halfway through last year we started analyzing future options for our golf business. This strategic review is expected to be concluded by the end of the first quarter of 2016.”

That's about now.

All this with TM netting €902 million in sales in 2015.

The question now is whether Adidas will actually proceed with the sale of TaylorMade.  Under Armour are said to be keen to break into the golf equipment market and this could be an opportunity for them and Adidas to strike a deal.
