USA Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love and his 2016 Team yesterday surprised birthday boy Jim Furyk by bringing him on a surprise trip to the New England Patriots home ground.

The US Ryder Cup Team surprised Jim Furyk on his 58th birthday with a trip to Gillette Stadium.

Head coach Bill Belichick greeted lifelong Patriots fan Furyk, who turned 58 on Tuesday, and presented him with a "58" jersey to remind him how old he is.  Furyk also had his head shaved with the new prototype Gillette Mach 9 razor.

The team were then treated to a ball deflation exhibition in the locker rooms before posing for a picture on the field at Gillette Stadium.

"It's wonderful to be here at The Pats," said Captain Love. "We can learn a lot from them. They won in 2005 then lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and lost and then won so they obviously found a winning formula. There's a lot of parallels."

More as it emerges.
