Just weeks after losing his European Tour card fortune has shone on young English golfer Eddie Pepperell with the announcement that he has been signed up to ghost write the next Harry Potter novel.

Eddie at home yesterday doing a bit of musing.

Author JK Rowling made the announcement during an appearance at Hamley's bookstore in London yesterday.

"I've read some of Eddie's amazing blog posts on loss, despair, foraging in bins, being homeless and destitute on the European Tour and they have gotten me hard, I mean hit me hard," said Rowling.  "He even knows Chinese idioms and stuff without googling.  We chatted and he said he was at bugger all for the next year or three, so we him signed up.  The deal is Eddie hands me a finished Harry Potter novel by next Summer and in return we pay to get Eddie's golf career back on track with a set of lessons from that outrageously expensive teacher Denis Pugh in the Wizardly."

It is believed under Pepperell's direction, the next instalment will see Harry Potter mess up even simple tap in spells, have a miserable year, suffer under the rule of the evil villain with coloured glasses and finally lose his key to Hogwarts. But then when all seems lost, Harry suddenly writes a Eurovision winning song, becomes huge in Israel and gets a gig with Sky Sports.

More as it emerges.
