Rory McIlroy tees it up in South Africa this week using a Callaway driver and irons and it's causing quite the kerfuffle.  But that could all change next week. And the week after and the week after.

Rory McIlroy was given an audience yesterday with the supreme Chief Tribal Warrior Leader after hearing he was using Callaway clubs.

McIlroy who came off a Nike contract in 2016 surprised many by by first jumping to the TaylorMade M2 and then into the new Callaway EPIC Sub Zero driver to start 2017.

Is this about contracts and money? Or is it about Rors giving every manufacturer in golf a nice bit of free promo to grow the game. Oh wait, probably not that!

As well as the Cally Epic Sub Zero driver, McIlroy is using Apex irons, Vokey wedges and an O-Roll Odyssey putter.

“They are picked for this week but that could change week to week,” he said yesterday. “This is my first event with those clubs, so we will see how it goes this week.

Will be using Wilson next week? All will be revealed.
