Ill health in the family is tough at the best of times but is especially heartbreaking coming up to a time of celebration like Christmas.

European Tour player Richard Bland's brother Heath thought he had the flu last week and is now in an induced coma in hospital fighting for his life after a mystery virus attacked his heart.

Richard told the DailyEcho....
“His condition is very serious. It’s a virus attacking his heart.
"There’s no real change right now but we are hoping it will improve in the next three or four days. I hope he will get better so we can play golf together.
“He is the best brother a brother could wish for and he has had lots of support from his friends which shows how much love people have for him.”

The recovery is expected to be long and a fundraising event has been organised at Brokenhurst Manor on December 23.
