Poor old Marcel Siem cannot buy a break.  He's made three cuts all year.

And Thursday at the French Open was the straw that broke the camel's back.

For some reason Siem and his caddie thought "placing" was permitted in the first round at Le Golf National.

The German lifted, cleaned and placed a total of five times in 10 holes.  When finally told there was no placing  he had racked up 10 penalty strokes. Added to his actual 1-over for nine holes, his adjusted score was 11 over.

“That was a little too much for me and I disqualified myself,” Siem said on his Facebook page.

Siem sits in 189th in the Race to Dubai and is ranked 794th in the world.

Poor bugger.
