Fair play to Rory McIlroy for having the balls to say on air he didn't feel comfortable with where the funding for the golf's proposed Premier League is coming from.

We have to assume here that Rory is talking about the Saudi Regime's funding of the project. It's a safe assumption.

The Premier League is represented by the The Raine Group and Barclays Capital but the Saudi Golf Federation and thus the Saudi Regime are the real financial backers.

"I didn't really like where the money was coming from either," Rory said at the API.

“The more I’ve thought about it, the more I don’t like it,” Rory said last week at the Honda. “I value that I have autonomy of freedom over everything that I do. But if you go and play this other golf league you’re not going to have that choice. If you take the money they can tell you what to do. So if you don’t take the money they can’t tell you what to do. So, for me, I’m out. My position is that I’m against it until there comes a day when I can’t be against it because if everyone else goes I may not have a choice. I don’t like what they’re proposing. I would like to be on the right side of history.”
