First up it's great that the PGA Tour is back.  I think it's super risky etc etc.... but pretty much all of us have gotten sick of hanging around and waiting for Corona to be over and running the gauntlet now somehow doesn't seem as preposterous anymore.

What does seem preposterous though is that instead of having a small manageable field of fit young men, the PGA Tour have decided in their wisdom, to not only increase the size of the field this week to a whopping 148 players, but for some reason it includes guys like Tom Lehman, Keith Clearwater, Scott McCarron and Bernhard Langer.

Those are Champions Tour players? Tom Lehman is 61, Clearwater 60 for God's sakes? Isn't that a bit dodgy given he would be a lot more towards the "at risk" demographic for Coronavirus?  Not to mention that he's most likely taking the place of some young PGA Tour player who desperately needs a chance at a payday.

Langer excepted of course. He's a machine, and he'll probably win.

So we'll have 148 guys, young and old on the course this week, the perfect recipe for painfully slow rounds.

On a positive note  the field will have the top-5 players in the world, McIlroy, Koepka, Rahm, Thomas and DJ along with European players Shane Lowry and Matt Fitzpatrick.
