Monty’s Naked Striptease: Grainy yet Shocking Photo

montgomery-burns-14 Why is everyone suddenly talking about Monty’s striptease?  Why are golfers suddenly preoccupied with The Simpsons?

I thought it was one of the poorer episodes.  Well there was that one funny bit with Smithers.  Anyway just to satisfy your curiosity, here is the much sought after pic of Monty (Burns) naked.

Here’s hoping that that’s the end of this matter.  I just don't get it.

What’s In The Bag 2010 Francesco Molinari

Player Profile and What’s In The Bag 2010: Francesco Molinari
francesco-molinari Full name Francesco Molinari
Born 8 November 1982 (age 27)
Turin, Italy
Height 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in)
Residence Turin, Italy
Career
Turned professional 2004
Current tour(s) European Tour
Professional wins 3
Number of wins by tour
European Tour 1
Colin Montgomerie better have a good pasta chef employed for the Ryder Cup because Italian Francesco Molinari looks nailed on to be an automatic selection for the European side. Molinari has been on the fringes of Ryder Cup contention since he and his brother Edoardo pulled off a shock victory at golf's World Cup back in November and with six British and Irish players almost certain to be in the team he may one of just three other nationalities in the side.
Francesco Molinari was born in Turin, Italy, and like his brother Edoardo has one European Tour win which came at the 2006 Telecom Italia Open. His consistent swing is admired by many and has lead him to seven top ten finishes on the European Tour this season. Francesco is in the top-10 in the statistics for driving accuracy and greens in regulation but the weak part of Francesco’s game is his putting; he recently changed from a belly putter to conventional length but languishes at 107th in the putts per greens in regulation statistics. Could the golfing gods be cruel enough to leave Francesco a six footer for victory at Celtic Manor?

Betting Preview: Czech Open

emotional spud Winner Alright: Last week we tipped Martin Kaymer to win at 33/1

Gonzalo Fernandez Castano 25/1

gonzo castano Gonzo makes the trip to the Czech Republic for the first time this year looking to kick on from his recent tied third at the Irish Open in Killarney. Four rounds in the 60’s helped the Spaniard to a handsome cheque that went towards securing his playing rights for next year. Castano may be considered a journeyman by some but he has clocked up four Tour wins albeit that the last one came almost two years ago. Not a man that shines on the practice range but a more determined player you will not find in this week’s field.

Robert Rock 32/1

robert rock Robert Rock makes his first European Tour appearance since his unfortunate disqualification from the Irish Open. Having shot an opening round of 65, an error on the scorecard meant Rock was DQ’d. Rock has been working hard on his swing since and the Czech Open presents the perfect opportunity of a European Tour breakthrough victory.

Simon Dyson 25/1

dyson Simon Dyson thrives on confidence. We found him practicing hard on the range in Killarney two days after having missed his fourth cut in five events and whatever he did paid dividends with a great showing last week at the US PGA Championship. Dyson knows what it’s like to be a winner having bagged the Alfred Dunhill Links and KLM. Open last season. After a poor opening salvo last year, Dyson caught the eye with two rounds in the 60’s to score a top-20 finish.

Miguel Angel Jimenez 18/1

jimenez ryder cup Puffing on Cuban’s and downing Rioja is hardly the stuff of Champions but it seems to do the trick for Miguel Angel Jimenez. The Spanish veteran is the course designer and star attraction this week. Lest you think he’s there to make up the numbers, be warned Jimenez would love to get his hands on the title and cement his Ryder Cup berth. Still well able to win as proved at the Open de France in June.

Ignacio Garrido 40/1

330_1083_Ignacio-Garrido Our long odds shot this week is Spain’s Ignacio Garrido. He may not have won since 2003 but he has a showreeel of near misses and I think he has one more win in him before he hits 40. Garrido had the tournament wrapped up last year but slid putt after putt by on his way to a final round of 72 saw him slip to tie fourth as Oskar Henningsson shot past him.

Overton Sets New Land Speed Record

clip_image002Jeff Overton may not be a household name this side of the pond but the young American is a virtual certainty to be in Corey Pavin’s Ryder Cup line-up. The jovial American fist pumped when he broke a course record of a different kind in the final round of the PGA Championship on Sunday.  Playing alone after sick playing partner Ian Poulter withdrew, Overton covered the 18 holes at Whistling Straits in two hours and nine minutes, to set a new PGA Championship record for the quickest jeff overton speed recordround. "Awesome! My first record at a major," Overton said after beating the previous record by one minute!.

On The Tour Truck: New Ping Putters

K.J. Choi and Kenny Perry tried to change their fortunes at Whistling Straits by gaming new Scottsdale series putters from Ping. Our spy pics show a much darker finish than previous Ping putters and a very distinctive maroon and white alignment aid which should really stand out. The biggest improvement however is the new insert in the Scottsdale series. Ping say “the polymer insert is softer than the insert used in the i-Series putters, so Ping hopes that it will match well with today's mutli-layer golf balls.” The new series features all the favourites like the Anser and the B60, but there are some new headshapes too, including the he extreme perimeter-weighted “Y Worry” (pictured). Expect to see them in golf shops in the coming weeks.

El Nino or El No-No?

When Sergio Garcia announced last week that he was planning to take an extended break from the game after the PGA Championship, the reaction was kind of “well close the door after you”. Tim Finchem from the PGA Tour wasn’t on his knees begging him to stay as he was with Tiger and European Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie wasn’t crying into his soup either. It doesn’t really seem to matter that he has a 14-3-3 record for Europe. The general consensus is that on the golf course at least, El Nino has turned into El No-No, an angry young man. Once the Tiger of Europe, now more akin to a wild cat.

Sergio’s sabbatical announcement comes just weeks before Monty names his Ryder Cup Team. One wonders did the Spaniard have a word with his Captain about his chances of a pick and on hearing the bad news decided to announce his break. Perhaps he hoped his terrific regarcia angrycord of five straight Team Europe appearances granted him some kind of exemption? However when asked last week if he could see Garcia, who shot 78 in the first round at Whistling Straits, on his team, Montgomerie was blunt. "At this stage it is not looking likely, no," he said.

Sergio: That look could sink a ship dude.  You need a Werthers and a hug.

So just what exactly has happened Sergio? Where is the jovial fun loving teenager that ushered me onto the putting green at the Irish Open in Druids Glen gone? Back then Garcia was full of smiles, a breath of fresh air, excited to be on Tour and seemingly cut out for that lifestyle. The next time I met him in person was at The London Club ten years later; it was like meeting an inmate who had just done time in solitary confinement, and that was during pre tournament practice.

Shabby Treatment For The Hoff and Pat Perez

charlie hoffman

Plenty of bizarre goings on at the US PGA Championship last week but none moreso than the treatment meated out to the two alternates Charlie Hoffman and Pat Perez. Both were kept waiting for a Major start that never came.

Pic: Charley “the Hoff” Hoffman. I Aint Gettin On No Plane Fool

The pair were denied access to the practice ground and instead were forced to spend the entire first round in a sweltering tent at the tenth tee box watching the entire field pass through. Some players stopped to chat to the pair, mostly asking what the hell they were doing there! With Hoffman as the first alternate, Perez had the less enviable position of being second, virtually guaranteeing no play. “Waiting for nothing,” Perez said. And to add insult to injury with an over three hour delay meaning the first round could not be completed on Thursday, the couple were made spend Thursday night in Wisconsin before returning to their tent instead of catching a flight back home. Only maybe the FAI could rival the PGA for bizarre behaviour.

Wayne’s World Of Fitness: Stretch For Success

clip_image002

Theory

Flexibility is a key factor to any golf swing. If you lack the flexibility to properly wind up your body you will never get the distance you desire or gain any satisfaction with your shots. Becoming more flexible will ease your stiff back, enhance your posture, relax your body and lower your handicap. For rhythm rotation and results you need to be flexible. The stronger and more flexible your hips and shoulders are and the better your balance is the better player you will become. A controlled hip turn with a big shoulder rotation creates a bigger differential between the hips and shoulder (X Factor Stretch) creating more coil and more power.

Exercise

To increase shoulder flexibility lie on a Swiss ball while keeping your lower body stable. Using a weight extend your arms up and then rotate your arms to the right maintaining a stable lower body hold for 5 seconds and feel the stretch. Repeat on the other side.

Martin Kaymer wins US PGA Championship at 33/1. Doc calls it again

us pga champion 2010 martin kaymer What a night.  Sad for Rory who burned the cup all evening.  Sad for Dustin again who found himself  in a sand trap with 5000 people.

But happy for Martin Kaymer, who I tipped last Monday at 33/1.  Hope you all were on board the gravy train!
