shotlink Here’s a few key stats to help you pick the winners this week at The Transitions and Andalucia Open.

The Transitions

  • Copperhead is a par 71 (36,35) with four par 5’s and five par 3’s. Measures 7,340 yards.
  • The par 4 16th is the most difficult hole on the course statistically.
  • Holes 16-18 are known as the “snake pit” and rank collectively as the seventh toughest stretch on the Tour roster.
  • Putting is the key stat.  Last years winner Gary Woodland ranked third for the week at 2.009.
  • Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort is suited to short hitter. The average driving distance on shotlink in 2011 was 277.6 yards, making it one of the five most suited courses for shorter hitters on the PGA Tour.
  • In the last three stagings, The Transitions average winning score was 12 under par.
  • 15 Under par won last year.  Scoring is expected to be even better this year.  The forecast is for perfect weather, very little wind and the rough is cut shorter than 2011.


  • After stagings in Malaga and Seville, the event moves back to the Aloha Club this year.
  • Aloha last staged the event in 2007 and 2008.
  • The course is a par 72 measuring 6881 yards for members.
  • Dry weather in the region has meant the rough is not at all punishing.
  • In 2007 the winning score was 20 under, it was 16 under in 2008.
  • Accuracy off the tee is the key to the course statistically with the last two winners at Aloha (Westwood, Levet) featuring in the top five statistically.
