In a Christmas statement on his website Tiger Woods has revealed he plans to open a pre final round texting service for fellow golfers in 2015.

Woods spotted a gap in the market after vicariously securing his third win of the year by texting friend Arjun Atwal before he won the Dubai Open last week.

“I texted Rory McIlroy some encouragement the Saturday night before he won The Open, and did the same with Bubba at The Masters," said Woods. "Then when I sent some words of wisdom to my best pal Arjun at breakfast last Sunday and he won I thought 'why should all these bastards be profiting off my encouraging texts while I'm getting nothing out of it' and so decided to set up a company.

From January 1st players who find themselves in the third round lead and receive a text from Woods must pay $200,000 to open the text.

Woods will not be extending the service to LPGA players as he's banned for life from texting women.

More as it emerges.
