Francesco Molinari told a packed press conference today at the WGC Cadillac Matchplay it "was too soon to decide" whether he would continue to star as Orville following the passing of Keith Harris or return to Tour golf full time.

The Italian Ryder Cup star semi-retired from golf two years ago to focus on steady weekend work as the loveably incontinent green bird alongside legendary TV entertainer Harris. It is believed the pair had been commanding three digits sums for their work at children's birthday parties and had a full Christmas pantomime schedule planned.

"Every time I pulled on the green downy Orville suit I thought 'my, I'm the luckiest guy in the world'" said Molinari.
He did concede however that a return to full time golf  might now be on the cards with the loss of his operator.
"Look I don't want to be pressured into a decision just now while emotions are running high" said Molinari, "But yes a return to a full Tour schedule is a possibility. I have to put bird seed on the table just like everybody else."

Both Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond have both been shortlisted as possible contenders to take over from Harris.
