THE USGA has said it would welcome a victory by Patrick Reed in a Major Championship; just not the facking US Open.

Speaking with a baseball hat on to look less recognizable USGA chief Mike Davis “We'd all love to see Patrick Reed winning a Masters, a British Open or maybe a PGA Championship. He's a very talented golfer.”

Reed is tied on top of the leaderboard, or "way too bloody close for comfort" as one USGA official who did not wish to be made described it.

Meanwhile in separate news, today's leading pairing of Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed will be accompanied by three WBC Boxing Judges from Las Vegas instead of regular Tour referee Slugger White as part of a job exchange initiative announced late last night by the USGA.
