I've had this nugget in my head for some time but now that Jason Day is officially World number one, he can honour his late father's wishes.

Alvin Day died of stomach cancer in 1999, when Jason was just 12 years old.  Having introduced his son to the game of golf and made many sacrifices to ensure he could play, the Irish Australian's dying wish was to have his ashes scattered over Augusta National golf course.

Unfortunately when he asked, Jason was told by the powers that be at Augusta that he could only scatter the ashes if he was World Number One.

Although he did hint he would scatter the ashes over Augusta regardless, after winning the BMW Championship, Jason can now "officially" grant his Dad's final wish.
