In a desperate last bid to stem financial losses, TaylorMade will later today announce their latest driver is to be named after England's most famous motorway.

After a week of the the missing M marketing campaign the company will this evening introduce the world to the "M1" driver.

"We thought it would be cool to name our latest driver after the north–south motorway in England connecting London to Leeds," said TM's head of marketing Chip Faxenhauser. "We discovered on google maps it is 193 miles so both the road and our driver are extremely long.  There are some synergies all 63 of us here in the marketing department worked really really hard on.  Oh my God did I really say 'hard on'?" 

Despite having multiple wins on Tour, it is still unclear why the 15 drivers TaylorMade have released in the past two years have not resulted in profits for the ailing arm of the global Adidas brand.
