Rory will play Zach today. A match worthy of the final in the last16.

I need to preface this by saying I'm loving the matchplay in Austin compared to the absolute drivel that used be served up at Dove Mountain.

But the format is still not right.

Nine players that won two matches didn't make today's last 16 yet two guys who won once are going through.  Granted they did get also get two halves but it's still doesn't seem right.

And would not be fairer to have a redraw after the league stages? Best against lowest seeded?

For his excellence so far, Zach Johnson is rewarded with a match against Rory McIlroy.  That's a potentially great final on this course now set to be played in the last 16.

Jordan Spieth will play Louis Oosthuizen; one of those guys will go out today despite being 3-0 in the league stage.

Then across the draw is Ryan Moore who will play play Patton Kizzire for the same reward.

Doesn't seem right does it?
