I have to admit I was so bored that losing a little faith in golf of late but boy oh boy this weekend was just epic.

Jordan and Andres what a weekend!
For 18 holes Jordan Spieth lucked his way around TPC River Highlands and then came up with the most memorable bunker hole out in sudden death over Daniel Berger.  Images of Tiger in his pomp came straight to mind with Spieth's celebration.

In case you missed it.

Heading to the Open Spieth now has 10 PGA Tour wins and two Majors; and back up to third in the World Rankings.  Golf needs that Tiger like hero with that same kind of mental resolve to produce epic moments and Spieth is it.

Luke Donald also enjoyed the finish and made the excellent point on Twitter comparing The Travelers to the US Open.

Love that -12 won this week on a 6850 yard course, last week at Erin Hills 7650 yards & -16 wins. Making courses long isn't the answer!

The par was different Luke, but it's a point well made.

But if the PGA Tour was thrilling, the European Tour had it's own magic moment as blast from the past Andres Romero rammed home knee knocking a birdie putt on the final green to win the BMW International Open in Munich.

The Argentinian, now 36, had slipped to World number 837 and only got into the event on a sponsors invitation.

The win was made even more exciting by the charging Richard Bland, who at 44 has never won on the European Tour and who had an eagle putt on the last to tie Romero.  Bland was paired with Sergio Garcia who almost chipped in for eagle on the last to force a playoff.

All in all it was a terrific weekend of golf and the shot in the arm we all needed.
