Anyone who witnessed Rory McIlroy's second round at the Open Championship will be gathering their jaws off the floor after what can only be described as a short game Houdini act.

McIlroy during his second round at The Open.

McIlroy's second round of 68 now sees him at -1 heading into the weekend. He's 7/1 with the bookies.

Jordan Spieth with a two shot lead is now the 6/4 favourite.  Matt Kuchar is 7/1 with Ian Poulter at 14/1.  US Open Brooks Koepka looks a value bet at 8/1.

Since a five bogey horror start on his front nine Thursday (which saw him out at 100/1 for a time), Rory McIlroy now has eight birdies in his last 26 holes against just two bogeys but that doesn't even begin to tell the story. He found only nine greens in regulation in his second round but put on a short game masterclass to surge 51 spots up the leaderboard to tied 7th. Such was the wedge game Houdini act, Rory needed just 24 putts

Here's his highlights in 60 seconds on The Open Facebook page.

Here's the status of my Betting Tips after two rounds.  Happy to report all five bets and long odds glory shots have made the cut. But we need a bit of action on moving day!!

Here's the betting heading into round 3. I like to look at Oddschecker to see how all the betting companies compare.
