Two top-10's from his three visits to the HSBC Champions for Matt (the other was T16) and he proved he's a horse for a course by defending his title in Crans Sur Sierre last month. T16 last time out at Walton Heath and four of his five Tour wins have come from September on. Driving it on a string, Fitzy has a super chance to win big this week.
What a fantastic year it has been for Ian Poulter. Finding form again, winning in Houston and making an inspirational return to the Ryder Cup. But after a good performance at the CJ Cup last week, he could surprise with a place from 50/1. He's another multiple late season winner and has played a lot of Asian Tour golf. Poults actually won this event in 2012 when it moved to Shenzhen for a year, but has since finished solo 2nd and T6 on this weeks course. Great each way punt.
Go back eight years to 2010 and Fran was going wire to wire at Sheshan beating Lee Westwood by a shot. Hopefully rested after a gruelling Ryder Cup and sodden British Masters (T56) the Italian will take his tees and greens game back to Sheshan in a bid to add a fourth trophy of 2018 alongside the BMW PGA, Quicken Loans and Open Championship trophy. Putting better than ever now, he'll fancy this.
Lucas Bjeregaard may be a debutant this week but he's on a run of five top-10 finishes in six starts including a win at the Dunhill Links and this could be a chance to really shine in the big league. On paper with his length this test should suit him.
Finished the 2018 PGA Tour season strong with a solo 3rd at the Dell and 20th at the Tour Championship and has since gone T22 at the CIMB at T7 last week at the CJ Cup. That performance was all the more impressive given he started with a 74. One previous visit to Sheshan three years back didn't go well for the Aussie, but he's a much better player now.
Matt Wallace is a debutant at 100/1 but with three wins already this year you would fancy that he can open the shoulders and enjoy this course. T16 last time out at the British Masters.
