Surgeons in London have declared a groundbreaking operation to remove the chip from Tyrrell Hatton's shoulder "a huge success" after a marathon 12 hour procedure.

Hitherto thought impossible, the operation marks the first time ever a chip has been successfully detached from a European Tour player.

Afterwards the surgical team hailed the operation as a huge leap in the advancement of medical science and hoped that someday soon, every miserable bugger on Tour will be able to have the operation.

"Tyrrell's life can from this day on be filled with joy and happiness instead of anger, blame and biting down hard on putters" lead surgeon Sanjed Poontang told reporters after.

Following the operation Hatton himself was beaming ear to ear.

"I feel amazing, I haven't had even the slightest the urge to destroy anything or look for someone to blame yet today," a delighted Hatton said from his hospital bed.

This chip, which weighed 5 kilos is being sent to the European Tour museum to be put on display.

More as it emerges.
