There's no doubt about it, the best player in the world right now is Jason Day. His final round performance at The Barclays was a putting masterclass. In case you missed it, here are his best bits.

But such is the ridiculous nature of the world ranking system, by missing the cut Jordan Spieth most probably handed the number one spot back to Rory McIlroy who was relaxing by a pool somewhere.

I say 'most probably' because on the World Golf Rankings official website, the rankings table jasnt been updated since the 23rd August, eight days ago!

To become World Number One the world ranking people will need Jason Day to win this week at The Deutsche Bank Championship. And that's certainly a possibility. Day "absolutely loves" TPC Boston, it's a veritable paradise for big batters and he's top-10'd there in three of the last five years.

It seems even the Rankins algorithm couldn't deny with a guy with potentially four wins in his last five starts!
