Forensic Detectives are hopeful they will have all the video footage of Lexi Thompson's win at the Kingsmill Championship analysed in the next day or so, so that they can get on with the trophy presentation.

"We are working on a few leads right now," a spokesman of the Virginia DA's office told reporters. "But we are appealing to the public for help.  If you saw anything, I mean anything at all suspicious please contact us. We only have another 24  hours or so to stop Ms Thompson from winning and time is running out."

"One viewer has contacted us to say he spotted Ms Thompson on the 13th green go down on her right knee to mark her ball and on her left knee to replace it so that is one very credible lead we will be looking into to see if we can find a rules breach," continued the Spokesman. "We are appealing to the public to stay vigilant."

More as it emerges.
