Rory McIlroy yesterday announced yesterday that he will be debuting the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball at the Players Championship.  Rors called out his current ball, the Titleist Pro V1, after feeling "like I struggled in the wind" with it at Augusta.

Maybe the criticism of the Pro V1 was a bit harsh it has about 30 Majors under it's belt but there is no denying that TaylorMade now has a ball to rival them.

Rory's new $100 million deal with TaylorMade sees him use TM clubs, ball and golf bag for the next 10 years. His recent $200 million Nike extension brings his total equipment and apparel endorsement to $30 million per year.

Here's the unveil.

However I think we all know that given Rory's incredible ball striking, his putting has really been the difference between winning and nearly winning this year so far.

But it looks like that is being addressed to by TM.  Rors was spotted by Jonathan Wall testing the hugely successful Tour Spider.

More as it happens.
