Doc's Top 5 Best Each Way Bets

First I need you to follow me on Twitter here..

Justin Thomas 16/1

Again this week Rory, DJ and Brooks are listed at unbackable odds below 10/1 with the first smidgeon of value being Justin Thomas at 16/1.  A fruitful trip to Scotland and Ireland may just have reignited what hasn't been his best season to date and if he can get the clubs dry in time could be a factor here.  Debutant at Southwind but defending his WGC crown.

Tony Finau 33/1

It's totally against my normal process but I'm going to forget all the missed cuts and crappy stats and just look instead at Tony's 3rd place at The Open Championship last week; this guy has some serious game and that performance has to be confidence inspiring.  For all of us there he was clearly different gravy to the entire field in ball striking at Portrush, if there's enough adrenaline left, he'll be up there this week.

Andrew Putnam 55/1

An impressive T4 in Scotland was followed by a T32 last week at The Open in Portrush for Andrew.  Lies 4th in Strokes Gained: Putting on the PGA Tour and finished solo 2nd at the 2018 St Jude Classic.  Good each way chances.

Chez Reavie 60/1

Missed his last two cuts at The Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic but Reavie remains an intriguing bet this week with his solid TPC Southwind record.  T6 and T4 in the last two stagings of the regular season St Jude Classic and a winner last month at The Travelers.  Avoiding the poor weather at the weekend of The Open may even prove important for Reavie this week.

Billy Horschel 66/1

Missed the cut at The Open but having a solid season on the PGA Tour.  A dogged competitor when in contention and loves this course with five top-10 finishes from his last 6 visits.

Long Odds Glory Shots

Danny Willett 80/1: T6 at The Open and looking back to his best. T12 at the US Open, T8 in Canada shows his form on both sides of The Atlantic.

Keegan Bradley 125/1:  Hugely overpriced and capable of a big performance this week.  Recent best of T2 at The Travelers.

Phil Mickelson 100/1: Coming in off a terrible run of form but always contends at TPC Southwind; top-3 in his last six staging of the St Jude and never outside the top-12 in that time.
