Tributes pour in for the legendary Noel Cronin of Waterville Golf Club who has sadly passed away.
Last Thursday Noel Cronin sat with us, as he does every year, on the Golf Ireland stand at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show to talk to friends and colleagues about his beloved Waterville Golf Club.
The legendary secretary manager looked the part as always in his blazer with the Waterville crest embroidered in gold.
For well over 30 years Noel made the trip to Orlando every January, and now recently retired, he planned to make the two hour trip south after the show to visit his brother for a week.
Noel would meet and greet and smile and talk and tell stories and everyone was a friend. After my early morning swims in the Avanti, I would be greeted by off duty Noel having his daily stretch outside the door of his hotel room with his white vest and undies and his compression socks "for the circulation" in the damn feet!
Noel passed peacefully doing what he loved, being a great ambassador abroad, for a place where he is considered a legend at home.
The last picture of Noel was fittingly at the 2020 PGA Show with his great friend Brendan Keogh of Swing Golf Ireland and Kerry GAA's Donie Buckley.
Tributes have been pouring in.
The Irish Examiner did a nice piece on Noel at Christmas.
Marty Carr posted a lovely video thanking Noel on his retirement for his work over the years with Carr Golf.
Kerry legend Kieran Donaghy also Tweeted.
Rick Young posted some nice pics
Discover Ireland Golf Tours posted a great pic of Noel getting his lifetime achievement award last year.
And finally a great pic with Nick Edmund, Global Golf 4 Cancer.
May he rest in peace.

Gutted to hear the news of the passing of the great Noel Cronin. The legend of @watervillelinks always had a smile and quick chat on the football while he puffed on that famous pipe . One of the most genuine, nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Noel greeted my entire family upon our arrival to Waterville in Sept 2018 & raised the Canadian 🇨🇦 flag to honor our visit.... pic.twitter.com/ZjzvPp5Hft
