LONDON-Broadcasting giant the BBC this morning announced changes to the voting structure of their annual Sports Personality Of The Year Awards after Rory McIlroy was controversially passed over for the top prize last night.

Head of the BBC Tony Hall announced today that a four person judging panel will be used in 2015 in conjunction with the public vote.  Following voting the two leading contenders will then take part in a dance off, following which the judges will decide the winner.  In the event of a tie head judge Len Goodman will have the casting vote.

In other news, Jo Pavey, who finished third in last nights BBC Sports Personality has been extended an invitation to play in the 2015 US Masters by Augusta Chairman Billy Payne.

More as it emerges.
