In form Jordan Spieth 8/1 and Dustin Johnson 10/1 top the favourites list this week as they contest an intriguing dress rehearsal for the US Masters.

Doc’s Top 5 To Watch

Jim Furyk 25/1

Didn’t go his way at The Valspar but with three top-15’s at Doral (T12), Riviera (T14) and Pebble (T7) I give Jim Furyk a great chance this week. The key to Furyk’s good form has been a top 7 driving accuracy performance in his last four starts; he also topped the greens in regulation stats last time out at Innisbrook and at Riviera. That accuracy will count double at San Antonio; if Jim can have one decent putting week he can contend.

Zach Johnson 22/1

Had two wins in 2008 and 2009 before the tournament moved to TPC San Antonio in 2010 and has a best of T6 here in 2014. Top 10’s in the Tournament Of Champions and Phoenix have been interspersed with poor results but a T9 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week will give confidence. As well as a T9 putting performance clip at Bay Hill, muscley Zach went 14 under on the par fives for the week. Beat that Rory McIlroy!

Brendan Steele 55/1

Brendan won here in 2011, was T4 in 2012 and is in the kind of form this season to contend again. Has a season best of T2 at The Humana but impressed at Riviera (T14) and at The Honda (T11). Would have done better at Bay Hill last week but a final round 76 dropped him to T35. Without missing a cut this season, Steele makes my top five.

Charley Hoffman 55/1

Have to give Charley Hoffman the nod this week even though his form of late hasn’t matched his Mayakoba (win) or Humana (T2) form. Since the move to TPC San Antonio Charley hasn’t been outside the top 15 in five starts coming closest with a T2 in 2011 and T3 in 2013. You could say he's The Hoff For The Course!

Daniel Summerhays 80/1

On my radar having improved his finish through Pebble, Northern Trust, Honda and Valspar but slipped up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week. The Utah native has San Antonio figured though with a T7 in 2013 and T2 in 2014. Dan has also been in the top 10 greens in regulation on his past three visits to Texas and is putting better every week.
