Bob MacIntyre 35/1

Found 59 greens at The Travelers to score a much needed top-10 and brought that form home with another 60 greens at The Renaissance Club for a T3.  Three Open Championship top-10's so far, two of them at Portrush; Birkdale is a different test, but a man in serious form and worth an each-way look.

Jon Rahm 28/1

I just think nobody is talking about him, and Rahmbo is still an absolute beast of a player. Maybe that's because the PGA Championship at Aronimink was an entirely forgettable affair, but crap as it was, Jon finished T2 behind Aaron Rai.  Add to that two wins and a slew of seconds on LIV this year and two top-10's in his last three Opens and suddenly 28/1 looks decent. Played all four rounds in Scotland last week, likely a tune up after over a month off. I have a feeling......

Wyndham Clark 35/1

Like Scottie in Portrush, he's coming over to do a job. Awful first round 76 aside, Wyndham for me was the best player on the Dunluce links last year, finishing T4. Huge confidence since the W at the CJ Cup, great Memorial, winning the US Open despite being heckled all Sunday and a T5 last time out.  With perfect conditions all week, the guys in form should contend.  And this is the hottest man in the field.

Chris Gotterup 33/1

Makes my five by virtue of there simply not being any links weather conditions to snooker the Americans this week.  Won the John Deere and put in a good defence of his Scottish Open crown last week (T11). Solo third in his Open debut in Portrush and should be right up there.

Russell Henley 50/1

Top-10 in his last two Open appearances including a T5 in Troon.  Won his 6th PGA Tour title at Colonial in May; a course that doesn't care about length and rewards accuracy. Birkdale is the links equivalent of that with all those dog-legs and bunkers and Henley is a lock to manage his ball and avoid the hazards. Brilliant scrambler and putter, excellent from 150 yards in, I think 50/1 is a great each way price.

Back from LIV and won both the KLM and Italian Opens last month on the DP World Tour. Open debut but has a links win at Fairmont St Andrews when the Asian Tour visited in 2023.
