A two time winner of this event on two different courses, Justin Rose at 9/1 will be trying to make it three at another new venue this year.  Bounced back from a poor US Open and Scottish with a battling T6 last time at The Open.  Already a winner at the Zurich Classic, Rosey is the class in the field.

Doc’s Top Five To Watch

Brendon Todd 25/1

The man to watch for me this week.  Four top 20 finishes in his last five starts including a T12 at The Open, T6 at the Greenbrier and T15 at The Travelers.  Putting very well of late.  Good in Washington too with a T5 in 2014 and T13 in 2013 at Congressional.

Will Wilcox 45/1

Very tidy season so far for Will averaging just over $109,000 per start.  Missed a couple of cuts at Greenbrier and Travelers but bounced back with a T8 at the John Deere and solo second at the Barbasol Championship which ran alongside The Open.  Hitting lots of greens of late.

Johnson Wagner 55/1

Found something at The Greenbrier to arrest a run of five missed cuts and has been on a roll of solid finishes ever since.  T5 at the John Deere, T10 at the Barbasol and T18 last week in Canada.  Hasn’t won since the Sony Open in 2012 but came close in Houston already this year.

Danny Lee 40/1

First start since missing the cut at The Open but that blip can be forgiven given the hectic few weeks Danny had.  Winner of The Greenbrier and T3 next time out at the John Deere.  The Robert Trent Jones club will be new to most of the field barring Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink and a couple more from the 2005 Presidents Cup and by my reading it should suit a rested Lee who can get right back in the mix.

Brendan Steele 33/1

Kindof expecting more from Steele of late but he has yet to really deliver.  Superbly impressive to travel to France and finish T6 at Paris National, one of the toughest and quirkiest layouts on the European Tour.  T5 in 2014 at Congressional and has ticked this week as a potential W.

Long Odds Glory Shot

Stewart Cink 70/1

Knows the course from the 2005 President’s Cup and coming in off a T5 (excellent Sunday) in Canada and T20 at The Open.  Drove the ball long in Glen Abbey, was under par for the par-3’s and gobbled up the par-5’s.  Fifth at the AT&T National in 2013 and a very solid performer in this event, albeit on a different course.
