I'm not sure Dame Edna Pelley and the rest of the European Tour bosses are going to like Rory McIlroy's podcast comments about the Ryder Cup and the team selection process.

Rors obviously has been thinking about Chris Wood, Sully and Matt Fitzpatrick getting into the team and thinks the better way to do it is not via the European Tour points but solely on World Ranking.  Using that method Europe would have had Paul Casey, Alex Noren and Shane Lowry in the team.

His comments went something like ....

“It should be the best 12 players from Europe versus the best 12 players from the US. For me, there shouldn’t be anything to do with membership of tours. To have a guy like Paul Casey not on our team when he is playing some of the best golf in the world right now, it definitely hurt us.

Oh I get it!!

Maybe that's the future of the Ryder Cup; two American teams against each other.  All the European guys who live in America and play on the PGA Tour against all the Americans who play on the PGA Tour.

And while we are it, sure why not disband the European Tour altogether.
