Doc's Top Five Best Each Way Tips

Matt Fitzpatrick 20/1

It must be that warm fuzzy feeling of being home that makes a player like Matt Fitzpatrick go from grinding out so so weeks on the PGA Tour to bursting into life at the BMW PGA Championship last week.  Matt circled a pair of eagles and 18 birdies on his way to a T8 finish at Wentworth and looks a great bet to go close again this week at a tournament he perennially plays well in.

Ian Poulter 20/1

Poults was trying so hard to do well on front of his home fans at Wentworth and a T20 wasn't half bad considering he didn't putt as well as he has been doing of late.  This week there's less pressure and Ian actually has one up on the field; he played in the event last time it was held at Garda Golf in 2003 finishing T18!  Expect to see more of the form that brought that win in Houston, T7 at the Heritage and T11 at The Players.

Lucas Bjeregaard 40/1

Maybe it’s a function of the big money Rolex Series and the quality of the field it brings that Lucas is available at 40/1 this week.  After a run of four missed cuts from the Maybank to the Hassan II the Dane has been in stunning form with a 6th in China, 5th in Sicily and T3 last week in Wentworth which included stats like 9th in Driving Distance, T4 in Driving Accuracy and 1st in Greens in Regulation.  Win number two has to be coming soon.

Andy Sullivan 33/1

It's been great to see Andy Sullivan playing solid this season.  I make it every cut made from 10 starts, only once outside the top-40 and five top-20 finishes for Sully and though he didn't sparkle at Wentworth last week (T35) there's enough encouragement from his Hassan II (T7) and Sicily (T3) form to suggest he can do well this week.

Matt Wallace 40/1

It's up to Matt Wallace to really believe he belongs up there with the big guns of the European Tour and this week is a great opportunity.  The Indian Open winner has since gone T3 in China and T20 last time out at Wentworth and I'm giving him the nod over Ross Fisher (25/1) for my final pick. Don’t make me regret this Matt!!

Long Odds Glory Shots

There's a tonne of long odds glory shots out there this week including Dean Burmester and Erik Van Rooyen (both around 70/1) that have been playing well.  I think that Mikko Korhonen is overpriced at 90/1 and he's a veteran of many Italian Opens and has been building towards a good result.
Of the home players Renato Paratore is priced at 200/1. He's bang out of form but I think he won around this time last year so you never know!!
