Doc's Top Five Each Bets

Bubba Watson 33/1

First outing since a Players to forget but on the whole this has been a real comeback season for Bubba with that Genesis Open win, a T9 at WGC Mexico and T5 at The Masters.  Managed a creditable T6 here last year when he was out of sorts and a has a best of solo 3rd in 2014.  With his length, shotmaking skills and spin control to these tricky greens I think Bubba has a great each way shout this week.

Charl Schwartzel 50/1

Charl seems to have arrested that bad run he was on around Masters time and ever since a good week paired with countryman Louis at the Zurich Classic he hasn't looked back.  Scored a T9 at the Wells Fargo and improved to a T2 at The Players last time out.  Has four top-20's here in Ohio since 2011 but the bookies doubt he has the putting ability to win here.  At 50/1 however he has to be a super each way bet this week.

Branden Grace 40/1

Grace really impressed me last week at Wentworth seemingly easing his way to a T5 finish.  That's after a T3 at the Byron Nelson.  Really coming into form heading towards the US Open.  The caveat here is that Branden has avoided the Memorial since 2014 and has never really got the hang of the course. Is he here because of the PGA Tour's once in four rule or can he contend?  The way he's striking the ball, 40/1 says he can contend.

Emiliano Grillo 40/1

Winners of the Memorial need to be putting well and the hallmark of Emiliano's eight Top-20 finishes already this season on the PGA Tour has been his flatstick.  Another great solo third last week in Fort Worth to add to a T9 at the Wells Fargo, T16 at Harbour Town and T3 in Houston. Best of T11 here in 2016.

Kevin Na 66/1

I know this is a star studded field but cant for the life of me think why Kevin Na is 66/1 with most bookies this week.  He's coming in off a T6 at the Byron Nelson and solo 4th last week in Fort Worth, is chipping and putting better than almost anyone on Tour and lost in a playoff to Hideki at the 2014 Memorial. This has to be the tip of the week.

Long Odds Glory Shots

It's hit and miss with Kyle Stanley 80/1 on any given week, hence the odds.  But I've seen him play good Memorials in 2013 (3rd) and 2017 (T6) and think he can be a hit each way from 80/1.

Kevin Streelman at 125/1 is another worth watching out for.  Has the game for the course and has been top-20 on his last three visits.  Played well at the Texas Open and Heritage this year.

Jamie Lovemark 125/1 played well last time out at The Players and is another worth watching. T10 here last year.
