Jim Furyk 18/1
The 2005 winner has an amazing 11 top-10 finishes from 15 stagings of the BMW Championships given that this event moves courses fairly regularly. Criticized in many quarters for not converting 54 hole leads, Furyk has still managed four top-8 finishes in his last 6 events. I also like him on new courses (this is the fourth new course in the last four years) and don’t think he’ll be too phased by a 7,352 yard par 70.
Geoff Ogilvy 60/1
What a way to bounce back from a missed cut at The Barclays! Ogilivy found redemption at The Barracuda at the beginning of August and tied second again at the Deutsche Bank where he notched up a clip of 14th in GIR and T12 in Putting. Just the most fantastic golfer to watch when he’s on form.
John Senden 50/1
Robocop us some good each way (albeit place reduction) money last week from 90/1 with a T5 at the Deutsche Bank and I think John Senden will be a real danger man at Cherry Hills. Tied 3rd in greens hit at The Barclays and T1 in the same stat at The Deutsche Bank. Best of second in 2011 at Cog Hill behind Justin Rose.
Bill Haas 50/1
Would you believe Billy hasn’t missed a cut since the 2013 Deutsche Bank; that’s a full golfing year! The 2011 Fed Ex Cup winner is coming strong on the rails again late this year with a T2 at The Wyndham, T15 at The Barclays and T9 at The Deutsche Bank. Moreover Haas was T1 in greens in regulation according to Shotlink at The Deutsche Bank and Wyndham. If he gets the putter going watch out!
Webb Simpson 40/1
Another man finding form late in the season is Webb Simpson. Good bounceback from a missed cut with a T9 at the Deutsche Bank to go along with a recent T5 at The Wyndham. Looked really solid tee to green in Boston. What is hampering Webb is having at least one double bogey or worse in each of his last four starts. If he can eliminate the mistakes, Webb can contend.
KJ Choi 120/1
Going to go with KJ for a good week more out of a gut instinct than much else. His season best came with a T2 at The Travelers in late June but he has three top 10’s in the last three times he has progressed to the BMW Championship. In with a shout on a par 70.

Favourites
With Rory McIlroy practically unbackable again at odds of around 5/1 I’m looking further down the marquee names and see Jason Day quoted at 18/1 on the exchanges. Has to be decent odds for a man coming in off a T15 in Valhalla, T2 at The Barclays and T7 at the Deutsche Bank. Forty birdies in his last two events thanks in large part to two fantastic putting performances. If Jason can match a greens in regulation performance like he produced at Valhalla to his current putting form, he’ll be hard to beat.Doc’s Top Five To Watch
