Remember the 2010 Ryder Cup? Europe won right?  Without Paul Casey.

Most wont remember it now but Monty chose Edoardo Molinari, Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington as his Captain's picks leaving out Casey.

Casey was number eight in the world at the time, a winner of the world matchplay at Wentworth and twice finalist at the (God forsaken) World Matchplay in Tucson.

There was a lot of, excuse the phrase, "shit flying around" back then about Casey not being that popular among his would be European teammates; hence the omission.

Well now it's 2015 and Paul Casey is back near the top and arguably better than ever. And guess what? The European Tour want him to rejoin to try and qualify for the 2016 Ryder Cup!

He is due to meet the new Tour boss Keith Pelley in London next week before making a final decision. "I think I could make a massive contribution to the European team but I didn’t get picked in 2010 when I was in the world’s top 10, so who’s to say I’d make it even if I did rejoin?" Casey said last week.  I would love to be a fly on the wall at that meeting!!

Here was Paul's reaction when he heard he was being invited to rejoin the European Tour next year.
