The European Tour have sacked chief headline writer Paul Beresman after he used the words "Amazing Grace" in a headline relating to Branden Grace for the 4,321st consecutive time yesterday.

Beresman, 36, who has worked for the Tour for 15 years, was clearly distraught as he briefly visited head office at The Belfry yesterday to clear out his things.

"I just thought that the headline 'Amazing Grace' was perfect in the circumstances to sum up Branden's win in Qatar," wept Beresman. "I was really really happy with it when I came up with it.  I just clean forgot that I used it after the third, second, first rounds, last week and 4,317 consecutive times previously in articles relating to Branden."
The Tour later issued a brief statement. "Paul was a good writing skilled person, and we is sorry to see him gone. But we have to move upwards and inwards."

More as it emerges and I'm sending in my CV.
