2016 Valero Texas Open Top Five Players To Watch

Patrick Reed 18/1

Pat Reed. Drop and give me 20!

No real hit from his previous two visits to San Antonio the last of which was in 2013 but Reed brings grit and mettle to a course which demands it.  Poor at The Masters but a T10 in Houston, T7 at the Valspar and T6 at Pebble  among seven top 10’s already in 2016 suggest a strong showing this week.

Charley Hoffman 28/1

Charley Hoffman. Like a lad you'd see fixing up a road.

If they gave Fed Ex Cup points for early  leaders The Hoff would be THE MAN but alas they don’t.  Charley is the horse for the course with nine top 15 finishes from 10 tournament starts.  T14 last week at Harbour Town ranking T8 in putting.

Billy Horschel 33/1

Billy Horschel. Pinged Ping for PXG. Say that 3 times!

Billy Horschel putts well at TPC San Antonio and on a course that yielded a GIR clip of just 51.73% in 2015  with an average distance to the hole of over 40 feet that is going to be vital.  Billy may not have a stellar formline coming in, but if it plays tough as expected, he’ll be up there this week.  Solo third in 2015 and T3 in 2013.

Brandt Snedeker  22/1

Sneds. Does it his own way.

Sneds is back at the JW Marriot in San Antonio for the first time since 2011 when he finished solo fourth.  Missed the cut last week (as normal after the Masters) but a T10 at Augusta is still fresh.  If the winds blow, watch for Brandt.

Jason Kokrak 45/1

Jason Kokrak. Hopes to one day sign an autograph.

Two top-15’s for Jason in his last three visits to Texas and coming here off a T6 at the RBC Heritage .  T6 in the greens in regulation stats there suggest he’s back to the form which brought that T2 at Northern Trust Open. Good each way shout.
