To see some of the world's great players descend on Walton Heath the morning after the BMW PGA Championship and slug it out over 36 holes for those precious slots, you know it has to mean a lot.

Gregory Bourdy took medallist honours and booked his flight to Oakmont in style on 9 under for the two rounds.  Others to go through included Mikael Lundberg, Lee Slattery, Matthew Baldwin, Gary Stal, Beef Johnstone, Alex Noren, Romain Wattel, Peter Hanson and Matteo Manassero.  A playoff of the finishers on two under saw Soren Hansen, Sebastian Soderberg and Max Kieffer grab the last of the 13 spots.

Three time Major Champion Padraig Harrington missed out on the playoff by one shot.
