The new Titleist 917 Driver
Just when you thought it was safe to buy a big stick up pops the new Titleist 917 driver! In fairness to Titleist they do stick fairly rigidly to a two year product cycle.

The new 917D2 and 917D3 drivers are being rolled out to the Tour pros at Congressional Country Club.

Here's our first look.

  1.  There is a SureFit CG cartridge that protrudes from the heel and toe of the sole.  That is taken from the recent super expensive C16 driver and allows the centre of gravity to be altered to produce a fade or draw, depending on which the cylindrical cartridge is inserted diagonally through the heel and toe.
  2. The crown has a retro high gloss dark grey look.  A little like the old 905R.
  3. The successful Active Recoil Channel (ARC) behind the face looks to be much the same.
  4. The SureFit adjustable hosel is retained.
