Joy quickly turned to disaster for Russell Knox at The Travelers.
Russell Knox's victory at The Traveler's Championship was overshadowed after it emerged his over enthusiastic celebration resulted in the destruction of a priceless statue.

The Scot's hat throw after sinking the winning putt gathered momentum and inadvertently decapitated an iconic 1,500 year old alabaster statue placed on display for the day outside the clubhouse.

"We only borrowed the God damn statue from the local museum for the final round" said TPC River Highlands course manager Chet Bubka holding back the tears. "We'll probably have to close down now and sell the place to pay for it. Bugger."

The incident was caught on camera.

More as it emerges.
