Betting preview and tips ahead of the 2018 Ryder Cup from top tipster Doc.
There's a myriad of bets out there for the 2018 Ryder Cup and while I would urge caution on lumping on before the competition gets well underway and patterns emerge, I do have a couple of thoughts on betting. We don't know the pairings or matches yet and things will be very fluid so its more for fun this week guys okay!!

Europe will win or draw this Ryder Cup. Odds on the win are 5/4 with the draw 11/1.Europe to win. Why do I think Europe will not lose?
Because Thomas Bjorn has set up Paris National super tough. Thick rough everywhere. Slower than normal greens. Its the antithesis of the putting competition Europe lost at Hazeltine, it is set up to negate the American smash and grab driver game. It's a European Tour setup where 10 under would win the event. Le Golf National is a cerebral test. Holes WILL be won with pars. The Americans wont like it. Europe has the home crowd and we haven't been beaten in 25 years. There. I said it!
Given the set up and the skillsets I am convinced Europe will win the Foursomes sessions overall. Noren and Fleetwood have won on the course and Molinari, Olesen, Poulter and even our long batters McIlroy and Rahm have ALL finished in the top-5 at the Open De France at some point, most more than once. Its a massive advantage. Bjorn will of course know all this and make the most of it in the foursomes to secure the sessions.
Again of course I don't know the pairings at time of writing (Wednesday) and this is hypothetical but.....
Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood. I'm assuming Thomas will pair these guys together (although he may well be thinking Alex Noren here) and they will become key for European success. Mild mannered, calm, straight, both with impeccable records on the course.
Assuming Thomas Bjorn sends Henrik and Justin out first on day one most probably to face Reed and Spieth, then Rahm and McIlroy in match two to soak up some more US talent, Molinari and Fleetwood will slot in perfectly somewhere under the radar below to win valuable points.
Again Francesco and Tommy Fleetwood are both 7/1 and look like excellent bets.
Tommy won the 2017 Open de France and Fran has been second at Paris National three times and is likely to play in every match. Fran will be the man.

A new addition to the Ryder Cup this time. Rough. |
Europe To Win Foursomes Sessions Overall
Given the set up and the skillsets I am convinced Europe will win the Foursomes sessions overall. Highest Scoring Pairing

Top Overall European Points Scorer
Again Francesco and Tommy Fleetwood are both 7/1 and look like excellent bets.
Tommy won the 2017 Open de France and Fran has been second at Paris National three times and is likely to play in every match. Fran will be the man.
Top USA Points Scorer
Justin Thomas 11/2 looks the best bet to me. JT came to play the Open De France this year, tied 8th and really looked impressive. Likely to play plenty.Europe To Win Day 1, USA Win Day 2, Europe To Win Cup
This scenario has odds of 11/1 and looks to me a good shout. Europe buoyed by home support to forge ahead on day one, USA to find their bearings and win day two and Europe to win the singles with all that course pedigree discussed above let loose.Long Odds Glory 125/1 Bet
Molinari top European points scorer, Spieth top US scorer and Europe to win is 125/1. The odds here are a function of Spieth most likely playing with Reed in tight matches (against Rose and Stenson) first off in a couple of sessions and of course his perceived lack of form. Don't forget though that Spieth had last week off to rest recuperate and practice and an Open Champion will have the game for Paris.Join the GolfCentralDaily community on Facebook Here and on Twitter Here.
