The atmosphere is just phenomenal at the Irish Open. The place is so relaxed, the course has been conditioned amazingly and its going to be a  cracker.

Had the pleasure of getting the tour of the new practice facilities and teaching building by pro Donal McSweeney.  It is just mind blowingly good.  The interactive indoor putting green for members is amazing.

As always hats off to the greenkeeping staff and all the people who descend on a tournament venue to help prepare the course. This Damien Coleman photo encapsulates it all.

Got to have a good chat with Erik Van Rooyen about his road to the top via the European Tour. A top guy, he's very appreciative of his time in Europe and is in no hurry to move across to the PGA Tour.  "I'm number 85 in the world now, I just want to get to 84," says Erik.

I love the bling in the bags too. The guys even have alignment stick covers!

And finally can you guess who this is?
Not Irish, not American, top 60 in the world and on his holidays around Dublin next week!
