Man oh man what a day. I think we were more worried about Shane Lowry's final round at The Open than he was himself!
Conditions were horrific......and ironically....that made everything just a little bit more manageable for Shane who grew up playing golf in weather that you wouldn't let your dog out for a piss in.
I loved the pic posted by Gary Murphy with Shane and the Claret Jug.
The funny video of Rory McIlroy and Shane's prep is also doing the rounds again. An oldie but goodie!
The walk up 18 was special.
And meeting family after was emotional.
And what about Shane's Dad, the legendary Offaly footballer Brendan Lowry holding aloft the trophy?
Well done to John McLoughlin of the North and West Coast Links Golf Travel company for successfully tipping Shane at odds of 45/1. Here's the moment.
Shane's home town in Offaly is called Clara. It didn't take long for this!
Laura Davies called Shane "British" yesterday. We had to nip that in the bud!
Jen Murphy's sketch was lovely too.
Overall what a week! One I will never forget. Thank you Shane, thank you Portrush. Tomorrow we dust ourselves off and go again!
